I'd have to make it one of the "other" (non harley) classics. Probubly an Indian. They have some very cool bikes now.

Hard choices, but here goes (can't limit it to just one bike either):
Speed Triple (for speed)
Any Rat bike from Hackasaw.com (for that crusty cool Triumph bobber look)
Bobber V-twin from Sucker Punch Sally's (to break down in between bars haha, just kidding, I love v-twins too...sometimes)

Easy. New Norton 952. Kenny Dreer is building 'em in Oregon.
Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

Since my goal in life is to own one of everything? my Ba was my second choice my first choice was the thunderbird sport, amazing performance for the price. my other first choice was the bobber I built with all the upgrade electronics.

GreenGlobule,
Unfortunately Indian went bust in Sept of 2003 - I really liked the Spirit (almost gave me the excuse to come to the US - buy it - tour the US - ship it to France or somewhere - and ride through Europe back to Greece but the bancrupcy precluded this). It appears that Indian have been bought by the same company that resurrected Chris-Craft but it is unclear as yet where or when they will start manufacturing again. Lets wait and see.

I would get myself an Eliminator 125 and show up at Harley rallies and say "Hey! What's a feller gotta do to get a veggie dog around here?"

The new indian mfg looks like they're going back to the classic engine config and away from the V-Twin. Actually it looks (the engine) a lot like the rocket III. It's an inline six I think.
As for a another bike. I'm kind of partial to one of those ZR1200's Eddie Lawsons. Or maybe a Z1000. Just something a little different. But still love the original hooligan Speed Triple.

I'm with PES on the touring bike. I'm still looking for a deal on a 1200 Trophy. Sure as I get one, Triumph will expose their new 1200-1500cc whatever-it-is. Besides, I've got too much clothing w/ the Triumph logo to change brands

After I add the Bonnie to my stable next month the next purchase will probably be a 600cc sportbike. I figure a perfect garage should have about five bikes. In no particular order
1. Sport bike 2. Cruiser 3. Touring 4. Dirt 5. Sidecar-rig
later, Hugh

1st would be putting my 78 BMW R100S back on the road, needs some restoration work. Next to keep the Speedy & Beemer company would be a 850 Norton Comando.

For Indian, the V2 is the classic engine. That and a couple of singles, 23 and 30.50 inch as best I can remember. When the Henderson brothers closed up their factory in the 30's, Hendie hired them to develop an inline 4 for Indian, but it never sold as well as the twins. The *HOT* bike back then was a Henderson or Indian 4 with a 4 cylinder Plymouth engine. Chevy 4's were too tall and Fords tended to overheat and didn't even have as much power as the stock bike engine.

Yamaha FJR-1300
That's the bike I was looking at when the Speedmaster grabbed my attention. I want something to get me across the plains fast and then be fun in the mountains. I want it to haul some gear and give me a little protection from the elements.

I'd have to go dual sport, probably a DRZ 400s as canyonwlf7 mentioned....though since I am somewhat vertically challenged, I'd have to lower that sucker quite a bit.....but I sure miss runnin' around in the dirt(although here in my part of the world, sand is all you get)....

That term is no longer "politically correct" (right, as if those 2 words ever belong together) you should say 'clearance enhanced'.

Yeah, I like the FJR-1300 also. The Triumph Sprint is nice this year but I don't think I would consider a tourer with a chain. You would be stopping every 500 miles on your trip to lube the chain. And when you are on a trip that's just one more thing to worry about.

Uh, chains don't get lubed anymore, just cleaned, as they are sealed with O or X rings.

I just made a decision today(translated - talked the ol' lady into it). I'm buying a 2000 Speed Triple I found. My buddy has a '03 and we've traded bikes a few times. The Speed Triple is THE old man "leaner". I'm too old and busted up and fat to ride a "clip on" bike and the Speed Triple gives you all the performance along with the comfort.

Eric, Good for you! I get to steal my kid's new Speed 3 when I feel rowdy (Saturday 100 miles). Took the Speedmaster out Sunday for 150 miles. My poor Thunderbird Sport is feeling left out. I think I owe her a good long ride this weekend. Oh the problems of multiple choices! Mike Sr.

Jamin, 1. IF BMW had a bike along classic lines I would add that if I could. 2. A Ural Sidecar rig just for fun. 3. Either the new Norton 952 Commando, or a Thruxton, or a SpeedTriple (I'm not sure which I would pick at this point, I love things about all 3!!)

Bonnybeemer,
Mmmmmm...beautiful. I liked the blue/white one (coincidentally those are the colours of the Greek flag) but would settle for the black/yellow combination.
This one's really as state-of-the-art (technology-wise) as you can get, isn't it? Kavla!
