Finished the Wiseco kit installation last week and managed to take the bike for a spin during the brief interval of fine weather here in the UK. Back to normal now.
After final completion I fired it up and got a whole lot of back firing pipes and carbs..had a feeling what it was and found that one of the carb to manifold clamps was not clamping tight even when it was screwed right up. Took it off and put a cable tie on it(very tight) after ordering some new SS worm type ones to replace all of them.
Anyway fired it up again and it was fine. Had to adjust the throttle cables a bit as it was ticking over at 2K. On the road it was brilliant..much more torque and power..acceleration was much improved flying up to 90mph in 3rd very quickly and effortlessly and I run a 19t sprocket. Clutch slipped a bit as well when it hit 5k revs
One question though..Costco are selling Mobil 1 0w40 quite cheap..is this oil OK for our bikes. I have got some basic mineral oil in at the moment for the run-in period.
Conclusion is...well worth it although if you were to drop something in the crank case when doing this it would be a nightmare if you could not retrieve it from the top! That is probably all you need to worry about. Follow Dinqua's excellent web pages and a manual to assist them and its quite straight forward.
