My flush fitting gas cap arrived today. After your e-mail, week before last, I've been waiting for the post office card through the door. Anything over £18 ($30) incurs a customs duty charge so I knew I would get the card! The card arrived today and after giving our lovely government another £8.74 ($15) at the post office, the cap was mine! I've just got to come up with an excuse to finish early so I can get off and fit it I must have forgotten a file at home or something .. It looks good and I hope I don't lose the key for opening it

Just installed the gas cap - very easy install.
Time was taken cleaning bike under dash while it was off.
You could probably install it without removing the dash but I wanted to.
I assume no one has used the tapered gasket??

Look familiar?
Also, if you hand tighten the cap, the key is not needed, or so I have read from others. Pete demonstrated the technique at the Nor'East Rally.

Same here. The tapered gasket looked better (almost flush) with the console in my opinion.

You mucky bugger!! Mine was NO WHERE NEAR as grubby as that! Where do you keep your bike? There's even dust on the back of the 'dash'!!
I had a tiny bit of crud in the 'hollow' in the tank but the stuborn crap was around the tank opening, in the little groove. A quick whizz over with a belt sander - clean as a whistle ..

Hum, gravel roads may have something to do with it!

Hiya Grip Invoice from Brent was something like $69 then £8.74 to Her Majesties Highway Robbery Dept.
I'd guess at around £48 all in.
I filled up tonight for the first time using it and it was OK. Just bit deeper to look into.

Hiya Matt I've since read it is possible to open without the key - I haven't tried it yet.

Newbie here.
Can someone fill me in on how big the "key" is? Will it attach to a key ring/fob?
I'm making my X-Mas wish list for the wife...the flush mount looks nice.
Thanks and best wishes,
Brad

The key is about 2" long and about 1" wide. I have mine on the keyring for the extra keys and it is fairly inobtrusive.
I also use one of those quick disconnect deals so the only thing hanging is the main key, a small key ring, and that part of the connector. The rest is in my pocket and does not bother me...

I like your thinking mate but bradleyd is in Stratford, Conneticut, not Stratford, Warwickshire.
Good point - there is quite a bit of stuff like that at the show and it's still open another day (Sunday).
