You could but at the risk of breaking it if you hit it really hard. The company doesn't recommend it, nor do I. I think Best Buy and Toys R Us still have them so you can go check 'em out.
My kids love it when I turn it on and chase them around the house! LOL

Ever watch that show "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS? All about geeky physicists. Super funny to us engineer types... Anyway, one night one of them heard something in their apartment, so he came creeping out of his room to check it out with one of those as his "protection". Wicked funny.
