Stephen, I'm sorry I can't help you on this one, although I have those exact same pipes and for a while I seriously considered removing the 1st baffle too. I guess I'm glad I didn't now and I do appreciate your letting us know what you came across.
I'm with Charlie on this one though and whilst I don't know what your financial situation is, I would seriously consider perhaps buying the bubs (or others) just because the weisco kit deserves them, and maybe trying to fix and then sell the tors. Let us know how you go
Oh, just one further thing. It would be really good if you could take a photo of what the internals of your type of tors look like and post it up here. I know it won't help you now but it may help others in the future with their decisions on what to do. For instance, if you had seen a photo of your tors, would you have gone ahead and taken out the first baffle? Just a thought but we like to help each other here
