Anyone in around Edmonton have a big bore installed? According to Echo Cycle they have installed LOTS of them, but I cannot see any one from around here posting as such. I just finished mine last night, 14 days from ordering the kit to starting it back up. Ordered the kit on a Tuesday, tore the bike down on the weekend. Kit arrived on the following Tuesday. Took the cylinders to Cycle Works (Poolaris dealer)on Wednesday, got a call Thursday night the cylinders were ready, picked them up Friday. Put bike back together as far as I could on the second weekend. Monday picked up a pair of camshaft oil feed tube banjo bolts and finished putting the bike together and start. I have one beer left of the 24 bought to do the job. Today I pick up registration and test ride.
Hints and suggestions for those around here thinking of doing this. Dealer does not carry gaskets, 2 week delivery if you need to order them for the tensioner, clutch and alternator covers. Cycle Works quoted 400.00 for the boring and pressing in of the sleeves, bill was a little bit more with shop supplies and tax, no big deal. They also matched the pistons to holes. Dealer quoted 700.00, THERE IS A LOT OF WORK TO PUTTING IN ONE OF THOSE KITS. Last of all, save yourself a trip back to the dealer and pick up 2 new banjo bolts when you are picking up the copper washers and o-ring for the oil feed tube. You have a 50/50 chance of being able to install these without them breaking.
Hope this post is of use to anyone around here thinking of doing the install themselves.
