Hopefully. Last year coming back from Ga. I stayed in West Memphis. It made Memphis look good.

Right now it looks like I'm leaving the Friday and riding over to Waynesboro, VA then spending the next couple of days making my way down the Blue Ridge and over to Dahlonega.
Are we still on for the original meeting date of 4/27? Oh boy oh boy oh boy!

Mark and I have plans to be there on the 27th. I'm starting to think we might have to run some of the BRP a little faster than desired.

I will be departing on the 27th, but initially heading for Tallahassee, FL. Then on the 28th departing Tallahassee and riding up to Waleska, GA (about 45 miles from Dahlonega). On Tuesday on to Dahlonega, via Cherokee, NC, then through Bryson City, NC, Deals Gap, NC (Tail of the Dragon) and then finally back south through Wolf Pen Gap to Dahlonega. I couldn't just do 45 miles on Tuesday, so 250 miles sounded much better (weather dependent).
Now I just have to figure out which bike to ride (I might just flip a coin)......

You said rough. Hum. I polished your route from Topton. Wayah road is fun. 141 cuts out the Murphy traffic. Old US 64 is beautiful. Chy and I rode this route from Dahlonega to Topton on our way to the Qualla Boundary last September (me on my way to the Nor'East rally). The Topton adjustment

Moe: Can you pimp my route? This is my fastest route from Ottawa. I don't mind I-81 for speed and I-77 is actually quite nice but I remember the part from the charlotte area on I-85 not being much fun. Any suggestions for the last part from 77 to Dahlonega.

huh! It keeps doing that - your waypoints map is so special my browser can't get over it! Here's what's in the gmaps search box: from: Ottawa, ON (ottawa) to: Wilkes-Barre, PA, USA to:staunton, va to:Gastonia, Gaston, North Carolina, United States to:dahlonega
An alternative from charlotte area or above that on 77 would be great.

Here are some routes. I'll edit this post, adding alternate routes. All slabs 1,840 km – about 18 hours 31 mins Slabs to Maggie Valley then War Woman Roads 1,907 km – about 20 hours 51 mins This route the War Woman Route gets your rear end fast to Maggie Valley. Like 18 hours. Wheels Through Time Museum would be your overnight stop. (or day two stop ) Excellent motel right across the creek from the museum. Meadowlark Motel Maggie Valley NC I paid $38.50US for a room there back in May 2005. Great restaurants that you walk to from there. You can see the red roof of the one I dined at in the photo. Likker store in town as well, West of the Hotel.... If you can make it to Maggie Valley, your ride to Dahlonega from Maggie Valley would be a grand roll of 262 kilometers along 30 kilomters of the BRP rolling onto a favorite road of lil sis (215), dropping down into Dahlonega along some fine twisty scenic roads... Having a whole day to ride, I would recommend spending some time at the Museum. A real nice place to ride, Maggie Valley is. TAke an evening ride on your motorsickle after you check in. Three Day route? This one is the same as the above but shows you a stop in Buchanan VA . Wattstull Inn, Buchanan, VA. Lobby of Wattstull Inn If you stay there be sure to visit Foam Hedge (Stone Hedge) Position A look for the circle in 'Satellite view' P.S.: Using google maps (for example) after you click on the 'all slabs' route, look in the upper right white area of google maps. click on 'link to this page', copy the first field to your clipboard. Then using the instant UBB code on THIS page, click on URL paste label the route you just pasted then there you have it.

My route from Waleska, GA to Dahlonega, GA via Cherokee, NC just got a little longer since I now want to include this little Gem. It's south of Franklin, NC after going south on NC 28 into Highlands,NC. Tom

Drop down a little further on 28 and you could roll War Woman Road War Woman Road Or look at this Wayah Road route that still allows you to roll 106. I want to roll so bad... PS: I want to roll Dillard road (106) sometime. I have read that it is a spectacular road.
