I am buying some stuff for my 07 america. here's the list...k&n pods, new jets, fish tail exhaust, stainless brake lines and speed bleeder. Is there anything that i'm missing to complete this little mission? I don't want to get everything apart and realize i need something else.

Since you will be taking the carbs apart to re-jet, this screw kit will come in very handy.....

Are you getting the Freak kit or just the pods? If just the pods....you may want a carb brace. Or search on here...some have made one from a small turnbuckle bolt.

don't try the speed bleeders with fresh lines, you'll find you won't get enough pressure to open them. There will bee too mucj air in the lines and it will just compress before the bleeder valve opens. If not getting the freak or equivelent you won't have mounting points for the side covers, starter solenoid ,or fake air filter covers.

If you are getting fishtail exhaust you will need baffles so you don't lose bottom end torque. All you need are the small 4" ones from J&P cycles,if you want loud they won't effect the sound but will give you the needed back pressure. I was going to post a link but J&P doesn't seem to want to connect. They are available many places though.

Be sure you replace both main and pilot jets. Go with a 45 pilot and probably a main in the range of 150 to 160 depending on your elevation.Might want to get some stainless allen head screws for the carb bowls while you are at it. makes any future work much easier. Ace Hardware has them here cheaper than ordering them anywhere online.

I am just doing the pods, no freak. I want to get rid of the cheese graters anyway so i'm not worried about them going back on.

I also saw the carb braces others have made...thats probably what i'll do. As for the fish tails, I was looking at these...jireh cycles I was going to add a 12" extension between the pipe and the header and put the stock heat shield on the extension so it looks more uniform.

Is it worth getting the speed bleeders for future use? What size are the allen head screws and how many do i need?

carb screws are 4mm X 0.7 thread don't remember the length. There are 8 total for the bowls (4 each carb) and 8 for the top (again 4 each carb) If you got them a little long you can grind a little off but be sure you do a clean job since the carbs are soft metal and if you leave a defect in the threads on the screws you could damage the threads in the carb.

Not sure what those fishtails look like inside, if straight through you would probably still need the baffles for back pressure. Maybe Soren can chime in , they look like the ones he has.

To me speed bleeders are a waste of money but it's your decision and some guys like them.
