i'm just changed to the 5/40 wt rotella and super tech filter and will see over winter how i like it.
I do run 5/40 syn rotella in my Kawasaki Voy 12, which is water cooled. the bike runs great w/ it.
i figure w/ the winter 30- 40 degree start ups the 5/40 won't hurt. i put on 1000 or so miles every winter here in Neb. also, i might change out the filter in 1000 miles for kicks and see what's up.
i have been using 20/50 mobil 1 v twin and the pure one filter. about dbl the cost of the rotella/super tech setup. if i don't like it, i'm only out 16 bucks.
i did notice that walmart had v twin mobil 1 oil at $7.19 a quart, about 1.50 cheaper than the O'Reily's i used to get it at.
btw, i have a magnetic drain plug and this was my first oil change since i installed it. there was a small build up of metal gunk on the tip. i'm glad i got it... and it was cheap.
