I spent 20+ years in the car biz...mostly in service...and it is a very, very stressful environment. Reading your post, sounds like you experienced a little righteous indignation with the guy and I can't blame you for losing it. Firing him was the best solution.
I just hope the owner supports you and isn't one of those sons or grandsons of the founder. Had too many like that who were born on third base and believed they'd hit a triple.
