My wife has refused further rides on my America after the last long ride we went on, it really wasn’t all that long about 125 mi. in the course of a day. Nothing right? Says the seat hurts her butt. In fact I’m kind of glad she doesn’t want to ride cause I like riding solo anyway. I don’t tell her this of course, I instead urge her to give it another try but she won’t tsk tsk. So now every time we go to the Triumph dealer (he is also a Honda dealer) she has been shooting admiring glances at the Goldwings. You know the ones with the sofas on the back. This has been going on for about a year. Well a few weeks ago we spot a 2002 Wing in mint condition so I start haggling with the salesman and before you know it I was signing papers. So now it’s in my garage where it has been for the last three weeks it is fracking huge (yeah I watch Galactica) I go down there and stare at it walk around it start it up let it run a few minutes and shut it off. I think it is starting to grow on me a little; it really is beautiful in some ways it is all black and shines like a diamond in a goats butt. I put just 17mi. on it that’s how far the dealer is. It’s been kind of cold here in NJ and raining a lot but I also have been real sick for the past couple of weeks. So if it warms up next week I will take it for a ride, I think, or I might plant some flowers in the box and saddlebags and park it in the yard.

I hope you kept the Triumph. The goldwing is great for two up loooong trips, but for pure fun and enjoyment, you can't beat the Triumph.

Wings are nice, but i dont like the postion of my feet on them. That and a new wing coast more then a Hd Ultra Classic.
Dont like what you see??? Big red X in the top right of your screen will fix it!

I love the wings. Awesome. Great power, week long comfort, and they handle unbelievably well for a sofa on wheels. congrats. It'll grow on you... tip

Gold wings are nice until you have to work on them. From what I have seen not much is easy to get to. Comfy for very long rides, except as Matt said I don't like the foot position either. Seems kind of awkward or clumbsy to me.

Before you know it, you'll want to pull a trailer with it.
That Freehold dealer seems ok from what I've seen. Good luck with your Wing and ride safe. The NJ drivers are insane.

Kenny, I have the same issue with Sue. She wants a Gold Wing or K1200LT in the worst way. I keep telling her we can't afford 2 bikes.

I bought mine in there. They were incredible compared to the one in Greenvill SC. I just spent a week down there and stopped in and it looked like Triumph is an afterthought. NO parts, not even cap or tshirt. Come to think of it there wasn't even a sign advertising for Triumph. But I digress.
Congrats Kenny bring that truck over to Creations Customs by Joey D for bike night in April. I'll be the guy on the black speedy with the 16" apes. If you haven't been buy his shop yet it is next to Lentz auto body in Campbell's junction.

This whole thread is a prefect example of Triumph missing the boat with the potential of the R3. Maybe in '09 they will finish the R3T.

Go ahead and join GWRRA, get the obligatory headsets and matching helmets, Gerbing jackets, etc., mount a stuffed animal on the trunk rack and hit the road. Bushtec makes the best trailer. Oh, and don't forget to start accumulating chrome. 40 pounds is the minimum. We'll see you at Cracker Barrel. If I can find it, I'll post a link to an audio link for your CD/tape player. It makes real motorcycle sounds . And there's another company that makes a bolt-on dummy kick starter that's always good for a laugh with the geriatric set. Just having a little fun, here. As a former GL rider, they really are good bikes for the long haul, but they're too insulated (from the motorcycle experience) for everyday use. After our 100+ ride Thursday, my wife made a "We need another GL" comment herself. She used to nap on ours or read a book (the left saddlebag was her library). So I may be facing the same dilemma soon.

Shh! Don't tell anybody, but, when I win Powerball, I'm off to Libbys to buy a shiny new all black Gold Wing, with every gee gaw known to man on it. I just might hafta stop by Canton Cycles and get a Guzzi California too. I'd never off my Triumph, but a big ol' comfortable Wing would be nice. My back and butt would be thankful. If any a youse whippersnappers have a problem with that, wait 'til your bones get brittle and crunchy, and you start doin' the Fred Sanford walk.

I would bank on that We better go easy on him, 'cause I bet I know who will be tapped to do the liquor store runs, what with all that cavernous carry capacity. Kenny Rumrunner - that has a nice ring to it.

Kenny, I won't say a word, as long as you and your wife don't dress like you're riding to a squaredance! Glad you got the new bike - my bride wants a GoldWing or a K12LT. At least she did say, "You're not selling the Triumph, though". I may join you in the GWRRA, but we'll pass on the square daintzin' uniforms.
Ride Safe,

ya know we're gonna have a bunch of "representitives" from other folds in GA this year. more triples, a honda(it's okay, baby), Tracey on his HD. just be there, man. and if having a wing is the thing that makes your bride want to ride then wing on brother, wing on. heck, i drooled over a Buell a couple of days ago.
