I've heard of "Crocker" before, but only in reading motorcycle history books -- never actually seen a picture of 'em before.
I have no idea what the other stuff is, but they're neat. They do have a distince American taste to 'em, tho.
Primero, where the hell do you FIND this stuff?! Cool!

The signature colour of the Crocker was a really nice shade of blue. The K series HD was a Britified replacement for the 45 inch WL with a right side footshift. A few years later, they converted the engine to overhead valves and called it Sportster. At some tracks, the conditions favoured the 45 inch WLR (racing version of the WL) and they were winning races into the 60's. The W series first went into production around 1934 and, if you count the 3 wheeler with the same engine, continued into the early 80's.

Primero, If I didn't know better, I'd say you were really into the Bobber look.
That's cool! So am I!
Derek, That Crocker is beautiful! Simplicity and class ARE timeless.
There's a great guy living in Prescott by the name of Dee Cameron, who sponsors the Antique Motorcycle Club of America's run every year there. He has a very nice collection of old iron, and among his collection is a absolutely beautiful example of a Crocker.
Greybeard, Man...being a fellow Angeleno, I surprised you didn't offer up the info that the Crocker was manufactured here in the "City of Angels" for just a few years(I think it was from around 1936 to 1941) and were consider the fastest production bikes made at the time. Unfortunately, WWII and the loss of the consumer base to the war effort, was the death knell for this great, but short-lived marque.
Cheers, Dwight
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Hey Dwight,
Is that AMCA run up in Prescott? If it is, I'd like to go.

Dwight,
Cool!
And thanks for the invite!
Don't get to see too many vintage bikes in Arizona. The Arizona Antique Motorcycle Collectors and Enthusiasts(AACME) didn't have their annual show this year in Scottsdale during bike week because of a lack of a venue to hold it. Haven't heard of any others so it's good to see at least something else going on.

Wow I have never heard of this bike, it looks great. Looking at the web site I came across this photo taken for an advert. I am sure this must have been quite controversial for those days, what a tart posing half naked on a bike. I can just see it now.

Cool bikes, I like the clean look of the bike. I'm not a big bobber fan but these old bikes have alot of character and I'd love to own one.

it's true ,some time real beauty is in the essential things, these "irons" they have the fascination of the old times. a different way to conceive the motorcycle.
