The island is called St Michael's Mount - apparently, the Archangel Michael landed there over a thousand years ago. D'ya like my house on top?

You're right - there is a tidal causeway you can cross on foot but when the tide is out, you can catch an amphibious tractor.

This one is the Crowns Section of Botallack Mine - a classic, abandoned Cornish tin mine. Nearly, two hundred years ago, the miners who were working 1/2 mile under the ocean, broke through causing the whole mine to flood. Incredibly, the breach was soon repaired - a task that I doubt very much could be repeated with such ease with today's technology.
