Well for Christmas I received some gift certs. from the Stealer, so I ordered the crome valve cover and the inside journals by the plugs looked like crap. I showed it to the parts guy and he ordered me another one, well that one looked just as bad . Te parts guy said they all look like this, can anyone tell me if they got one that looked good? If it is true than I'm going to return it and hopefully get my money back.
Thanks

They all look that way. Tell you the truth. When it's on the bike you can't really notice it. The outer lobes show mostly and they look great. Some folks have sent their original powder coated valve covers to the chromers. However, this tends to cost much more.

I striped the paint off the original one and polished it. And now I know why they look like carp in there. Its hard to polish in there. So I end up buying a chrome one and Im happy with it.It beats polish the aluminum every week.

yep the camshaft covers aren't the finest example of Triumph chrome. Vera has a chrome cover and yes if you look at the spark plug wells...

Cinnamon Girl has the oem grey one. I really like the black covers. I might have one of my grey ones powder coated black. Put it on Cinnamon Girl or take the chrome one off of Vera put the black one on Vera and the chrome one on Cinnamon Girl. Decisions decisions. Cinnamon girl has the 07 speedy sprocket cover on and it looks great. Vera has the speedy rear peg hangers on. Black is beautiful. Just enough chrome to light it up but black is what motorsickles are all about. What made for TV chopper builder says "Any color, as long as it is black"?

Anyway, I would have the oem grey one chromed were i determined to have a chrome cam cover.

Hum, must do something about that grey george foreman grill on Vera Lynn.

I love mine. When it's on the bike, the only part you really see is the part that looks good. It's also nice to not worry about polishing the chrome where it's hard to get to and you don't see.

Mine are a little rough inside but like everybody else said the plug wires hide most of bad stuff.Good luck with that gasket mine still has a slight oil drip after several attempts of repositioning.

Another good point, on the 08 bikes with EFI I don't think you can remove the AI so it helps to cover the bad finish.
Those Triumph people know what there're up to
