After 40+ years of riding with an open face, I finally switched to a closed face, Shoei TZ-R last fall. I was looking at the RF-1000, but your head shape will determine which you get. The TZ-R is more oval and the RF-1000 is more round. The TZ-R is great in the winter, but I have not ridden it in 90+ weather yet. Quality is top notch.
