Wow, I paid $75k for my 972 sq ft craphole back in '99. Might be worth twice that now (if the remodel was done). If the trend continues, "starter homes" like mine should crest $200k in the next few years.

Wait, how did we go from hybrid cars to houses?

A good friend in Encinitas California bought a nice place for about 200k back in 1983 and sold it last year for a little over a million. He got out at the right time. I still kick myself for not buying a place in the San Diego area back in 1977 when I first got there. A decent place was a little over 100K at that time. 3 or 4 times what a similar place was at home. Oh well

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
