a longer spacer on top of the springs would do it too. Thing is then the tire wouldn't follow the road as well, when you go over a bump or over the top of a rise the front wheel actually drops and maintains contact with the road. If you do what you are saying it will no longer do that. Wouldn't imagine it would too good on the internals either.
