Well missed out on Corbin last week on ebay. Am wondering if I should just by new. With Florida sales tax and shipping looking at around $400. Already have corbin backrest from previous bike. Not sure about springing for that much..............Used a Corbin on the T-100 and loved it. How do you folks like it on the America???

I love mine, my butt just didn't fit the stock seat well. I also found the backrest to be a good thing, I leave it on all the time. So just be sure to order your seat with the socket for the backrest post and you should be all set.

I'm a believer but in my case if the seat isn't firm the lack of support makes my tail bone really sore after a while.

I definitely still get saddle sore after a while, but towards the end of last year I found that spandex shorts or some other such low friction under garment REALLY helps with that. I also found some monkeybutt powder Haven't had a chance to try it out this year tho, only half hour or so rides for me.

I'm the same as Ed. I just knew after my first distance ride that a new seat was necessary and given the Corbin had the backrest, I purchased one new.
Since that time I have done some consinderable distances with the Corbin and now after about 10,000klm's I believe the seat has been a great investment in my comfort.
Much depends on what shape bum you have and other factors but I don't believe there is anything better.
BTW, I have an airhawk too just for insurance on long trips and if I get monkeybutt as you guys call it, I just put it on for a while. Best of both worlds that way.

Love my Corbin on the Speedmaster.
Something to consider when wondering new vs used: When you buy a new Corbin seat, they ask a few questions about your height, weight, inseam etc. so they can make the seat for you. They don't just have them in stock and ship one off the shelf. Each seat is custom made.
Also, the foam that the seat is made from takes about two thousand miles of riding to form to the particular butt for which it was made.
Buying a used Corbin could result in a very unsatisfactory experience.

Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

My son was riding on the T100 when he went off the road. Front tire tracked into a groove when he went wide on a left hand turn. Think his inexperience was a factor. He tried to react but it was off the road to quick and into the dirt. He highsided and landed in a ditch. He was ok, slight fracture in right shoulder, bruised hip. He is all recovered now. I was with him at the time and still gives me nightmares. When I got back to him he was out cold. Good thing some friends were also riding with us to help out. The Boonie's entire front end was toast from striking a sign along with some other damage. Insurance totaled the bike. Pulled all the extra bit's off and am selling them including the Corbin gunfighter and lady at some point to pay for America farkles.

love my corbin but had to have it redone to make it softer, some people get hard seats and some get softer ones. if you have plenty of time tho for the same money you can send your pan out to Russell day long and get a seat better than corbin imho, but you will be without a seat.

Wow. The cow fields of chuluota. Glad to hear that your son is mended up. I have two corbins saddles and one corbin pillion. Lynn loves the pillion and I kindasorta like the saddles. Each saddle has a backrest. I would say I love the saddles but i won't. I do but I don't. That's why i have two. Sit on a bonneville america or speedy with a corbin first then consider: The saddles made to receive the backrest: Sometimes the female part buried in the saddle is a pain in the rear for the rider. Real leather for the saddle sides. Corbin will use vinyl unless you ask for leather. All options are included in the price. Make your choice based on all the options. Color grain piping softness etc. Make sure they ask you your weight height inseam...They supposedly have different pans/foam configurations. Go to the Georgia 08 Rally and sit on a billion different corbin saddles. The back rest makes for a great passenger death grip purchase. Much better than finger nails digging in your love handles. Well actually the kidneys get punched before that happens...nevermind. Ride to Ormond Beach. PM Ryan7771. He has one on Rhonda in Pt. Orange and if you can get him off his Sprint...

Yep, will have to pull the backrest when the wife is on the back. Want the backrest primarily when I do longer rides. Hadn't thought about leather on the sides just on the top. Will ride with a sheepskin to keep the hind quarters cool in our lovely summer weather...... that seemed to help with comfort on my other Corbin
