I thought about that and at some point that may be the way I go. I found these really good looking oval lights at

For now I want to do this with minimal cost involved (I need to finish that gas tank before I start another project). Im also not sure if Im going to keep the bags on 100% of the time. I probably will but I like options you know.
Your method of using the hardware spacers is in my mind too.
