I guess these bikers were a wee bitty annoyed with with cager who decided that the dedicated bikespace was a good idea.

Unless the fork is locked it would be pretty easy to simply push the bike in front out into the street and leave. I like the attitude though.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Dedicated motorcycle parking! What a luxury that would be! I know lots of guys who ride to work around here in the sunny months and we always have to hunt for parking. Even if I find a metered spot I have to make sure I park pretty broadly in it so that a cage doesn't come and try to "share" my spot. I know a couple guys who got tickets on their bikes because they assumed the cage was the one there first and the one feeding the meter.
You'd think cities would be encouraging smaller vehicles that get 40 mpg into the city centers....

They've had motorcycle parking for years in some cities in Calif. They get 4 X the parking meter revenue for what would normally be a single meter spot.

My local Lowes has motorcycle parking only spots.  And, its right in front of the door, Closer even that the disabled parking spots.  Not quite sure what to make of that

Well, hopefully these guys have bike alarms so even if the forks aren't locked, this guy will draw some attention to himself(or herself) when he tries to move the bikes...

Well, all I can see here is that those two bikes parked on the outside of this car are just beggin' for the scottish cousin of that woman who smashed into Blackbird's brother's parked Sportster in New Jersey the other day to come driving down that road.

I have to agree with you there. The two bikes parked on the outside of the parking bay are asking to be wiped out, and knowing how narrow some of the roads are in the UK, and in this picture you can see a bus comming. One bus and one big lorry (truck) together, bye bye motorcycle.
These bikes owners may think they are making a point but if you ask me, it is pretty dumb move.
Can't imagine any Triumph owners pulling a stunt like that

That is a tough call, they are illegally double parked and outside the parking designation lines.

Where I come from, we would have just got about 8 guys, picked that cage up, moved it out of the spot, parked, and walked away. Expain that one to the cops cager. rofl

I was trying to see what they had on sale in the lighting shop window in the picture but it won't zoom in enough.
Nice to see though made me smile.
The problem arises when it's the local chief constables car parked there.
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

I see cars parking across the limited space my local authority have set aside for bikes only.
So far, there hasn't been a car in the space when I've been on the bike otherwise I might accidentaly drop my boot on their bonnet while getting off the bike.

The bikes are on the lettering which is part of the bay so legally parked. The Car is illegally parked and will get ticketed.
Just as a matter of interest, a guy who used to work for the Department Of Transport has published a book giving the legal dimensions of road markings. He went around one small area of London (chosen by a member of the public) and found 80% of the markings were illegal and therefore unenforcible in law. I might suggest to our mc club to get a copy for reference.
I'll try and find a link for the UK'ers.

I work for Ford in Dearborn MI, and we have dedicated motorcycle parking on concrete slabs. Not Asphault.
