Dawn Wells AKA 'Mary Ann' on Gilligan's Island was  in Idaho late last year for possession of Mary JANE and associated paraphenalia. She was recently sentenced to a few days in the hoosgow, a 400+ buck fine, and put on probation. I always KNEW she was the HOT one!!!

Of all the ones on the island I would never imagined the innocent (& hot) Mary Ann would be busted for reefer. Like many guys, I always had a thing for her. My money would have been on Ginger or the Professor to be toking chronic and the Skipper and Mr. Howell to be throwing down boiler makers. She doesn't look too stoned in the mug shot. In fact, she looks good for a 69 year old. It's not nearly as bad as a lot of celeberty mug shots I've seen like Nick Nolte's or Glen Campbell's.

wish I knew, you think they would have learned from proabition.I don't smoke it but feel it is much less harmful in many ways. I always have used the example, if you take a group of people and put them in a room where they are all drinking alcohol. Then take those same people and put them in a room smoking pot. Where is it more likely that there would be trouble?
P.S. I don't buy that gateway drug BS either.

I'm not certain she was busted for being under the influence of anything or why she was even pulled over. The story was that she was found 'in possession' of the drug and of paraphenalia. As far as decriminalization goes, I feel that anyone driving or riding or (fill in the blank here) under an impaired state on ANYTHING puts not just the impaired person at risk; it also puts ME at risk when they are on the highway with me at the same time. If you wanna get high or buzzed, then stay the F home! The problem is that 'impairment' means not just an impairment physically, it also means an impairment of subconscious rational decision making capabilities such as, 'Should I speed on through this intersection in spite of the red light or not?' Believe me, if I'm hit by someone impaired and survive to tell the tale, thier 'sincere apologies' aren't going to cut it with me. All this having been said, Mary Ann was a HOTTIE!

I agree, I was not suggesting that it should be legal or wise to drive ,operate,etc... anything under the influence of any drug. Kinda thought that went without saying.
Thats a hot pic of her but loved that little farm girl type costume she wore in the series.
EDIT: I was looking for a good full body shot of her costume. Seems obvious now that I read it, but never put the 2 together. Seems Mary Ann Summers was modeled on the Dorthy charicter from the Wizard of Oz.

why is it illegal??? #1 there is no test to confirm when you smoked it, was it this morning or 3 days ago??? #2 the government makes far to much $$ with it being illegal if it were legal people would grow it and the govt. would lose out on the $$ #3 any politician that has the guts to stand up to the pharmasuticle companys in that way would lose his career in a minute, because if it were legal there wouldnt be a need for a lot of drugs that are being pushed by doctors today. oh there are many other reasons that i dont have time for right now but alot of it boils down to the fact that there is not a big enough push by the people, its a very low priority to most so it is just not discussed much in the halls of congress. on to the reason for this post hahahaha Maryann was busted because of iradic driveing on her way home from her b-day party, when she got busted she tried telling the cops that "she had picked up a couple hitchhikers and when they lit up she kicked them out of the car and that the stuff was there's" also does anyone remember gilligan got busted a few yrs ago also??? yep he got busted with quanity??? more like a lb or something??? she got busted with a very small amount. i guess an island would be a great place to grow your own so i imagine they were all stoned all the time. come to find out it wasnt that far from the mainland and they could have swam to saftey but were to stoned to realize

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Not exactly true, if it is done like alcohol. Growing/production would still be illegal unless lic. to do so. Gov't gets money from the lic. Then sell it in state stores or where ever they now sell booze in your state and the gov't gets their taxes from it.
I think Mary Ann was definately way hotter than Genie.

That shouldn't be too hard to do...think about it. There isn't a law enforcement agency in this country that would not lose out on a lot of revenue if pot were legalized. Truth be told, there are a whole lot of law enforcement officers that did or do smoke the stuff themselves, and if ever pressed on the subject would tell you in a heartbeat that pot would be better legalized than beer or hard liquor.
Should have been legalized long ago, if only we as a people were not so weak and have not done enough to demand it. Again - a low priority, so nobody is going to go to the wall for it and risk everything else they own to fight for it. Makes me wonder what if Prohibition were to happen again (it won't) - what kind of priority would that be today? And how on Earth would we justify that?

I heard about it on the Jim Rome show on the radio as I left for lunch this afternoon. Laughed my a** off. The way he can take a subject/story and run with it, along with all the modern day "slang" he apparently is so hip to..."Hippie Lettuce", in her "whip", he went on for a while about it - and what does any of that have to do with SPORTS?? Only one answer - she was one hot chick on that Island. Only Rome thought it was Mr. Howell who had the bake on. It was so funny I was laughing at a red light and people were looking at me funny.

The police do not make the laws. Legislators do, at both the state and federal level. The states and the feds spend billions trying to stop drugs and get only a tiny fraction of that back in fines and seized cash. Spending a dollar to reap a dime does not make financial sense. There may be sound reasons to keep them illegal but a financial windfall is not one of them.
And like everyone else, I had a thing for Mary Ann (or should that be Mary Jane) when I was a youngun.
