Not sure if this belongs here, but it'll get moved if it needs to be. I just want to comment on what most already know about the service we receive from our specialised vendors. Customers are quick to complain, but too often best efforts get taken for granted.

I've ordered product from Brent (newspeedmaster.com), Eddy (fasteddysports.com), and Mike (bellacorse.com). The service has been excellent. There's been some problems, but they were dealt with very professionally.

What triggered this post: I ordered easy brackets from Eddy, and I received the wrong mounting posts. I called him asking about this, and in an hour received a call direct from Easy Brackets with a very satisfactory resolution. This made me think about the service I've received in everything related to my BA... except the dealer I bought it from!!!

Thanks to all four of ya...

Sigh.... Again with this?

So every time someone presents something positive about our vendors, you are are going to repeatedly regurgitate this one event? This was early last year if I remember correctly?

Time to move on, Ian....

(btw, just curious but do you have this saved somewhere? It almost seems verbatim from the last posts! )

Also, any argument that you are 'just trying to help people make decisions' about vendors will not wash this time. You've made that point...

No I just got the refund and Email yesterday. I feel people should know what cruddy service I got from him. No, it seems verbatim because it's true. If he would have simply made good on it and sent me a good part I wouldn't have said another word about it.

Oh and it was last year I started to post about it ,after I had already been waiting months.

EDIT: It isn't vendors, I was treated very well by Eddy and Bella Corse and am the first to say so and recommend them as I have many times.

OK, so you 'have it in for Brent' so to speak. Understood.

This thread is about the positives and you still have to dredge up what really is ancient history and a single occurrence. Again, let it go.

Am I defending Brent? Yep... He's a good guy that provides good parts/service.

Am I in cahoots with him? Perhaps I get a kickback? This has been alluded to more than one time here and I hope you and all that know me get a good laugh about just how the absolutely ludicrous that notion is.

It is by no means ancient history the transaction just ended yesterday. I don't have it in for anyone I treat people the way I am treated.

Again, this is a positive thread.

Go start a new thread about how specific vendors suck and quit muddying this one, OK?

Phil makes an excellent point for all of us. I'm reminded of the axiom "public praise - private admonishment". We've all been on both sides of that old saw. The take home message for me is we generally "Thank" the person who deals with an issue one-on-one. It's against our nature to readily agree when chastised publically. I bet we can all relate to similar situations in everyday life.

I've done it right and done it wrong, but invariably things turn out better when I follow those simple words.

As far as the vendors listed, I have always had excellent "customer service".

Geez Ian!

You know, I write; I earn income from training material that I develop for the trucking industry in Alberta. You went a little off-side in your use of someone elses work in one of your posts. Does that make you a bad member here? In your tow truck business don't tell me that you haven't had somebody that no matter how hard you tried you couldn't seem to satisfy properly, and hopefully that person won't rant on about how "bad" you are! You gain traction here because of the number of posts you submit, but the vast majority of members seem very happy with their relationship with Brent's business.

I would have thought that a person in business like yourself would be able to see the big picture, and not personalise another's business efforts.

Sorry Brent - publicity's a quirky thing.

I had said that in one of my early posts about this. If I made people wait like he did ,and have no real explanation, for my parts I wouldn't be in business.

I want to leave it at that since I said what I have to say and was requested to let it go. Thats what I will do for now.Unless I need to respond to something.

We've chosen a specialised nich product for our bike urge, and a number of vendors have invested time and money to satisfy our peculiar needs. They search, develop, and adapt products that hopefully work for us. Have I had to wait for stuff? Yes. Have I had to make other choices because what I wanted simply wasn't available? Yes. Have I thought that they made the best choice in some of their ideas? No, so I don't buy it, and that reflects in their business, and makes them better for both them and us. We need them as much as they need us.

If you need absolute satisfaction in whatever catalog you choose from you need to own a metric V-twin. Ian, I sure hope that your business is bullet proof and needs no sober second thought, or the commitment of your customer base in your success!

I have dealt with almost all of the parts vendors for our bikes that are (or have been) on BA.com. They are all top notch people and a pleasure to do business with!!

It isn't about absolute satisfaction if he had told me there was a problem instead of continually promising next week then there would not have been a problem in the first place if you exclude the 2 bad parts I got but there again all he had to do to satisfy me was send me a good part that was paid for.

This is one of them "should I?" replies...
I am like Ian when a business treats me like crap - I will badmouth them every chance I get. But my dealings with Brent have been A#1 - service, communication, shipping, quality, never a problem. Plus, he was probably the first to provide unique aftermarket goodies for our rides, a shakey niche market at best. I've bought quite a lot from his site and never had a problem. I've never met the man, I don't get a kickback, and he has never even offered me a ride on the yacht that he bought from all the money I've sent him in the last few years...
Fast Eddie and Mike at Bellacorse also offer excellent products and customer service. The guys at Thunderbike in New Zealand are right up there too.

There has never been a lot of aftermarket support for Triumph - I agree that we're lucky to have the vendors we have, especially since our bikes are again, a "niche" market.

I've bought goods and exhausts from 3 vendors.
Without getting into names (you can PM me for details) I had very crappy attitude-related experiences from 2 of them (both normally very highly praised on here).

The 3rd and extremely notable exception was FastEddy.

I had accumulated and finally placed (in November) an order for circa 10 items with him and then I proceeded to make the logistics (shipping) of this order as complicated as possible for him.

For custom's purposes we can legally get away with importing anything tax-free as long as it is circa or under 2 kg.

This means he had to weigh and package everything accordingly, whilst at the same time trying to keep my shipping costs at the lowest possible levels.

He then showed interest (on several occasions) in whether I received the goods (being an overseas order - in four seperate packages dispatched at different times) and couldn't relax until I got the last one.

He has since harassed me to return a very small credit in my favour since I had sent him a tiny bit too much.

Since it wasn't an easy order both in volume nor in logistics (not forgetting his prompt follow-ups), I would say he came through with FLYING COLORS ... by any standards!

Would I order from him again ... in a flash! (I am currently preparing a new one).
I certainly appreciate the efforts he made, which were way above the normal requirements of just doing business.

Way to go Eddy!

Deon,

Unfortunately there are occasions where experiences differ vastly, in my case with 2 of the vendors you have mentioned.

I don't doubt that, I can only relate my experience.

But again, we have a greater number of vendor options (not HD or Hondakawayamasuzuk - like numbers) for our bikes than probably ever before. And most of the vendors are members here - so they get their warts exposed along with the accolades.

I've dealt with Brent and Eddy and I can't complain about their service......just the fact we get stung for import duty and/or VAT when they arrive here...and a flat £7 fee from Parcel Force/Royal Mail....

I also ordered something by Rivco from A.N.Other company in the US (even with the import it worked out cheaper...) and they sent me the wrong thing....I emailed Holly at Rivco, to try and kick them up the bum.....she's great. If all the guys at Rivco are like her, I'd recommend them over everyone else!!!!

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

I have ordered from Eddy and can honestly say the customer service is second to none, communication all the way from leaving his place to arriving in the UK. Top Guy

Also have ordered from Brent and again top service, communication is good, and he also likes to know when the order has arrived.

The only problem we have in the UK with ordering from the US is all the customs, import and handling fees we pay, which makes the parts sky rocket. This though has nothing to do with the top service received from these two vendors.

Although I haven't done business with all of the vendors yet. The ones that I have dealt with I have nothing but good things to say about them. Any problems that I've had (which were few) were dealt with in a timely manner. Keep up the good work guys.

Never had a complaint, never had a problem, never had to wait, always got what I expected.

In fact - I bought a set of brake pads from Brent well over six months ago. They were delivered in less than a week. I still don't need them. NOW THAT'S PROMPT SERVICE!!!

I can praise Eddy for sure. When I ordered from him the part was going to be a couple days late and he let me know. Had nothing to do with him at all and was out of his control. Since he let me know I had no issue with it. He was pleasant and helpful and forthcoming with information. I would deal with him again in a heartbeat and recomend him and would do so with other vendors I have dealt with too.

I've had good experiences with all three of the vendors named in the first post and I've been pleased with the quality of their products; I think it helps that they ride what they sell.
In a bit of shameless self promotion I'd like to thank Mike for choosing my Bonnie as the Bella Corse Bike of the Month for March

I had to chuckle while reading your post cause that’s spot on the way he does business.
eddy goes way out of his way to please a customer and makes sure that customer is happy before the transaction is complete.
I’m not the greatest with the written word but I say, being the man he is he deserves to go far with his business and I sure hope he does.

Btw eddy, I did receive the break reservoir decal and it looks great as usual.

I've ordered stuff from both Eddy and Brent, and very happy with both.

I bought from Eddy on ebay even before finding this site, and he took the time to write me a nice email when he noticed my addy was a us.army.mil account. I appreciated that.

Bought the Freak from Brent with my tax refund, and I swear I got the box at my front door before I got the email confirmation for the order. I didn't see a blue police box in the area, but I have my suspicions about Who does his deliveries :P

I agree, and Brent actually told me about his site after I had ordered from him maybe 3 times. I would like to add Bill Gately from bonnevilleperformance.com to the list of good vendors.

I'v done business with all the above vendors and quite a few other's and have been well treated by all. I will have to give Fast Eddy a special pat on the back for going the extra mile on a special order for me. He called to make sure excatly what I wanted and gave a spot on extimate of the time required to get it done. He's the only vendor thats ever called to see if I had gotten my order and was satisfied. A first class dude.

I have only ordered from Brent so far (relax, other guys, I am sure I will get around to ordering from you too) So far no complaints other than the following:

I recently ordered the clutch lifter dress up kit and then a week later was showing the online photo to someone at work and saw the little link that showed how nice it looked with the chrome clutch cable bracket. DANG! I had never felt self-conscious about my ugly clutch cable bracket before, but now I am almost ashamed to be seen with it in public.

Thom I might be wrong, I sometimes am.

I would also like to add British Customs. I ordered a set of mirrors from them. Great selection, fast transaction, and quick delivery. No complaints. They actually phoned prior to shipping to inform me of the adaptor that I will need in order for the mirrors to fit.
