if it works better then what we use now then it might actually be worth it, seems easy enough to clean. maybe someone should be a guinea pig and try it out

My wife has called me a pig lots of times. Does that mean I am a candidate! (I'm not from Guinea, though)

I like the "Made in USA" part but I can't see spending that much on it. Would take quite awhile to become cost effective especially when there are some very good inexpensive disposable spin ons.

The price is a little steep, but the housing looks pretty hefty. I seem to recall reading some stories, around here, about oil filter casings getting punctured by road debris.

I'm tempted...

Actually, I'm tempted too but I don't have the money right now.

Besides being the last oil filter I would have to buy, I like the idea of being able to see what's been caught in it without having to take a hacksaw to it.

I'm tempted also but as we all know flow x restriction equals pressure. Since the filtering is so much better will it up the pressure to a point of wearing out the oil pump in an accelerated manner.

Sounds fesable to me but what would I know?

Blessings all

Better filtering doesn't always equate to higher pressure/reduced flow. If you have twice as many holes that're half the size you can still pass as much oil/minute, but the particles that're trapped are smaller. It also would (as has been pointed out) stand up to a greater knock than an aluminium spin-on, and would (eventually) offer cost savings. Of course it also looks better but you wouldn't notice unless you put the bike on a lift. The price is too high for me though, so tempting as it is I'll not be buying one today.

I like it. Just sent them an e-mail asking of they provide replacement seals because that's the part that will wear out.

These "filters" are the quickest way to turn your engine into junk. Their numbers on particle size are misleading (to say the least) look HERE . A good disposable filter is the way to go - cheaper, too.
