The argument never really ends and is not without its hypocrisy.

There most certainly are those individuals on this board who love to ride and have ridden for most if not all of their adult lives and would not dream of riding without the full complement of "gear" ...yet they smoke cigarretes with a passion that transcends common sense at all. I guess the slower death brought about by years of smoking and the prospect of lying dying in a cancer ward is "OK" as opposed to the quick and timely death of a high speed blow to the cranium that brings about death or severe injury and incapacitation.

We all make choices in life based upon simple preference where its allowed by law.

We have all seen those riders at the large rallies in the summer months riding cruisers wearing shorts and chukka boots, sans helmets and a wife beater or just a T-shirt.

Its easy to look at them and condemn them as "stupid" yet when we look closely we will all likely find instances where we make choices to take risks and disavow safety for fun and convenience or comfort.

"Let those Who Ride Decide" ....

You can lecture and pontificate until the cows come home but the very freedom of choice we have in some states is "golden"
