Just remember, if you ride over your head, your helmet is just the bucket they find your head in.
And your gear is your funeral shroud.
Many people ride more agressively, take more chances, when they are in full helmet and leathers, because they feel safe.
In reality, all that safety gear will only protect you against the weather, the road, and the stationary objects.
It won't protect you against another vehicle.
And it
definitely won't protect you against yourself.
