Can anyone out there tell me where to pick up Truxton needles and what the advantage of using them is? Will be running EPCO's with Uni in Stock Box

I wouldn't use the Thruxton needles. Some of us went to Thunderbird Sport needles but I found them too rich. The NH dyno runs seemed to show that the stock needles with 1 shim was the best setup. The TBS needles seemed to fix a mid range power issue but were really rich at the high end. I run Specialty Spares with Uni and drilled airbox 138 mains. I found going back to stock needles and 1 shim was best. You can go to pretty much any dealer and order TBS needles or Thruxton needles but remember the TBS is a triple. Don't order a set of TBS needles cause you'll get 3. Try adding a shim to each stock needle first. If you're not happy then order the new needles. This thread will probably be moved by the MODS to the performance forum.

They have a much more aggressive taper so they meter more fuel at the same throttle settings than the stock or TBS needles. I have them but I also have a smaller jet to compensate for the taper; I'm running a 125 main on a set up where most folks are running 132s (K&N in a stock box with "velocity mouth" inlet and Specialty Spares pipes). I like the results but I also haven't been to the dyno man to see what the real story is so I only have my "butt-ometer" to back this up.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Got mine at the dealer, but I'm running a Freak, not airbox... Good thing is needles/shims are the easiest and cheapest thing to change regarding the carbs, so I say go for it. You can always go back. Might try Frank's suggestion of a shim or two first.
