Philly CL Check it out. I wish the pics were bigger/closer. I like the tank paint and striping, just not the shape. It's like a small cartoonish sportster tank...

It's cool but they are all starting too look the same. Joey D at Creations Customs in Middletown NJ is doing a bobber that is going to be so much more interesting than what we are seeing now. inch and a half tube rigid frame, 4.5 gallon tank and a bunch of other unique twists that but I don't want to blow up his spot before he says it's ok.

Some look the same sure, but I also think there is a lot to be said for a clean, simple bike.

I know this dude. Looked at a '64 Bonnie chop he was selling two years ago, located in the mean streets of Killadelphia. This looks like a much better deal than the lucky charm choppers bike. Lucky Charm builds some very cool stuff, but $10k for a chopper is a stretch. Here's another Lucky Charm creation at the NYC Dice magazine party. Quote:
this ones in the same philly listings for way cheaper and it sorta looks the same too

Wasn't too bad a time. No such thing as aids and an "ounce of diversion" was $20. We did have to contend with disco, but it eventually went away as I'm sure Hip-Hop and rap are bound to.
Gold flake is groovy.

When I was in the 70's, a dime baggy cost 10 bucks. Anyone remember Zolotone paint?

i can "DIG" the silverflake or the rootbeer brown stuff. but when its approching pimp status it just looks like the beegees riding 2up on it wearing gold chains wrapped in chest hair..haha
I remember seeing an anti-drug commercial saying something like "the weed your kids are smoking is 5X more potent than the stuff you smoked so it aint cool, ground those MFR"s!"..ahha...maybe thats why it costs more now.

I like the gold LEAF if it isn't over done. I too lived in the 70s and remember the finger measurment. 4 fingers was about $20 if ya got the good stuff.

While I've never been a big fan of Triumph choppers, I think this one currently on Ebay is actually pretty cool lookin', even though it looks like it needs to be cleaned up a bit. I like the fact that the gas tank sits right above the engine and not up in the air too far above the rocker boxes like on so many other Triumph choppers, such as the one pictured above in this thread. And also probably because it has a girder front end instead of a leading-link springer front end is another reason it caught my eye.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Hey Dwight, is that an Amen "spring tail" frame?

As there's little info about the bike on Ebay other than to say it had a 1998 write-up in Iron Horse Magazine, I'm not sure who made that plunger-style frame, Ed. But, I think you could be right. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1964-650-...tem360029323563

Sure looks like it is.
Cool bike but needs forward controls. When I first built my chopper I did it like his and discovered my knees were in my chest and was getting cramps in my legs. I always hated that rear spring set up too, feels worse than the old sprung hub wheel.

that backbone showing between the seat and the tank is just scary...i cant imagine bouncing up pretty high over RxR tracks and coming down right on that frame....freaking huevos sucked right into the carb on opposite sides just to make it hurt more and its all bad news at that point.

The angle of the sissy bar should match the rake. The passenger is going to be pushing the rider right into the void between the seat and the tank. Not to mention that the passenger is going to be wearing whatever comes off that rear tire. You probably couldn't see the front tire at night with that headlight.

Agreed, if the sissy bar matched the rake the b!tch pad would sit more level and the passenger wouldn't slide forward thus pushing the driver. Lets hope the guy doesn't Armor All it.

Hate to say it but I agree with Dwight. That chopper needs a cleanup, but I love girders over springers, and the lower tank looks great. The silver one is nice n clean, but the sporty tank (blech!!) is way too high, not to mention out of place. Agreed on the sissy bar too.

That's the stock frame. Most choppers have that piece cut out, now that's real scary! (also typically eliminates the top motor mounts) Come on, no passenger will ever ride on that bike, unless you can convice some drunken 21 yr old to ride home with you. Quote:
