Welcome to the forum bikerlaw. This was my first stop too about three months before I bought the Speedy. Tons of great info and help from the folks here. I hope one day to get out and actually meet some of them.

Yeah dog, thats pretty much my taste, only with shocks. Its just that I am tired of wrenching on old bikes. So that style, as new and low milage as I can afford. It criminal that Harley gets 13K for a stone stock base model Superglide, and 20K for a Ultra. But the fact people pay that is reprehensible to the senses. Lets see if this link works:

Because of both space and finances, I can only have 1 bike at a time. So I want to sell "Frances", the Shovel in the picture, and pick up a decent used Triumph. Then, as time and money permit, build a custom bike. I am active on the Shovelhead forums and really like them, but don't want to be without a bike for the extended amount of time I am gonna spend putting another bike together. So, the Frances is for sale.

Y' know, just as I pulled up this picture on the screen, the radio started playing "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin. What a picture and song!

I have to admit part of the reason I bought my SM in the first place was when we went to go to Laconia my 66 TR6C chopper was starting to over heat with both of us on it. So I decided rather than kill that bike I went down that day and bought a new one. Now I enjoy being able to ride any time I want with no little tweeking needed before I go. The old chopper always need some small adjustment, points, valves etc..

Absolutely wicked my brother! Too bad you'll need to rid her, but looks as thought she'll make a fine ride for the next hooligan.

Welcome & thank the good LORD you're still with us!

Take care,
Jim

You've come to the right place. Had my America for nearly 5 years now, and every time I go out to the garage, I still stop to admire it.

The forward controls are already there, and the bars are easily replaced. They are 1 inch in diameter, so you can get apes as tall as you like almost anywhere. The stock ones are what we used to call western bars, really comfortable to ride with.
