Well I gotta say I've used a lot of strings and inexpensive isn't the same as cheap. I'm surprised that a grasser isn't singing the praises of John Pearse.

Elixirs are good strings, I use them a lot for smokers since that wrapping keeps them alive a good bit longer but the string tension is definitely higher and they lack a certain attack response that I look for. To each his own though since ultimately every guitarist pleases themselves first (as it should be).
