Primary Cover aka Left Engine Cover. YES. The wave washer on the starter shaft will drop out. The starter shaft itself may drop out. (Just ask Ryan!) Check for flaked chrome and rectify if any is found on the inside of the cover. You'll have to drop (not remove) the front peg bar and will have to remove the left silencer (in addition to the obvious stuff). Have some black high temp RTV sealant handy when reinstalling the silencer. AND put the silencer's clamp back in the same orientation it was in before you removed it. If you don't the side stand will not fully retract.
My advice to everyone is never remove this cover EVER unless there is a critical reason.
