Spun an Insert when taking off my brackets on TOR Mufflers to transfer them to EPCO's (received with out brackets in a trade). Does anyone know if EPCO makes brackets for their mufflers or how a guy can pick a set of brackets. My Dealer has no clue.

Are the brackets themselves in good shape? I had to cut the head off a bolt on my stock pipes to get mine off for my Epcos (no brackets new...).

Yes, but I'm trying to not mess with them too much, so I can ship the pipes to someone that I traded the EPCO's for.

Gocha. I think if you spin the insert (you mean the nut insude the pipe right?) there isn't a whole lot you can do unless you can get a wrench on the nut inside the pipe. Even then, not sure how the other guy is gonna get it back on.

tac welding will damage chrome. Is it possible to drill the bolt out to get the hanger off then install a iron grip type nutzert in the pipe?

This is what you're dealing with. It isn't a nut- and there is a steel mesh screen covering them on the inside.

Check out Dinqua's pipe mods on his web site to see how those stock pipes are put together.

I tack welded the inserts on a couple of the pipes I have done. Had to grind the head off to get the bracket off then with a cut off wheel ground through the chrome and scuffed the insert in 2 spots opposite each other then made 2 small welds , ground them smooth and used a small amount of high temp aluminum (silver) paint to prevent rust. You can't tell I did anything once the bracket is bolted to the pipe. Be careful it's probably pretty easy to burn through the pipe. I used a mig welder on a very low setting.

EDIT: by the way I welded then removed the cut off piece of bolt with pliers.
