Currently planning on going up on Tuesday the 4th and staying until Sunday the 9th. Will probably be at the Speedway on Thursday, and will try to demo a Tiger.

That is what I want to see, how good are the claws and teeth of the Tiger. Wednesday the 5th we are planning on being at the 21st annual Daytona Antique and Classic Motorcycle Auction and Vintage Bike Meet. In the past as many antique bikes are ridden to this event as there are inside. Also it is probably the only event at Daytona where British/European bikes will out number the HD and Jap bikes. The auction is run by J. Wood & Company , and is held at the Stentson College in Deland, FL. Generally they have a pretty good BBQ lunch inside. Tom

Let's try to grab lunch even if I am working. I don't think I can make the vintage show, but I can get together after work and on weekends. Might try to catch some of the racing this year.
You will love the 1050 motor.

Ryan,
Most definitely lets get together for lunch or whatever. Once up there I'll give you a call and see what your schedule is like.
Tuesday around noon we plan on being at the Speedway and will actually try and go see the last day of Vintage racing. We know they are holding the Vintage races on Monday and Tuesday, but I haven't been able to find a schedule of what type/class races and times. From what I have found they won't start racing until almost noon and both days they will stop at 5:00pm. We are going to try and ride into the infield and watch from there.
Thursday morning (if we can get up early enough) at the Speedway also but to checkout all the manufacturers, and other stuff outside the track.

I'll try to find the on-track schedule this morning. If you plan on riding a Triumph demo, be at the track at no later than 7:30AM to sign-up.
Anyone else coming up, down, or over?

100% sure to be in Daytona for bike week. Leaving from work sunday morning about 0830. Got a couple of riding buddies from work brave enough to make a dash to florida and back. I can't wait to hit the road.

Mark, since you seem to be so disconcerted at not being able to enjoy what, Daytona Bike Week? Or Florida weather or scantily clad babes, hum... anyway I wanted to let you know that I Rode to Daytona yesterday! On the way I looked at the two aircraft on the Arthur Dunn Airpark runway in Titusville. One upside down and one on its belly. Sad. Two trucks at either end of the runway with blazing yellow lights adorning a huge X. Two blackened husks marking the ultimate bipolar conditions. From the flight of a bird to burning pain. Anyway, being humbled again by life’s convolutions, I rode as many back roads up to Daytona as I could. Roads with names like Old Dixie Highway, Folsom Road, Flounder Creek road, Dixie Way, County Line Road, Turnbull Bay Road. Dirt Roads on a sunday morning...Ah! Sweet. Just Vera and I rolling north with no set plans other than day tripping. Robert style: Just me and my motor sickle. Road into daytona and down Main Street at 1:30. Crowds still allowing traffic to flow. Hoards of folks, on south beach street and Main Street, but soon I was southbound on A1A and traffic was gone. Road to Ryan's. Saw the whole clan and munched on some ribs. Road from there to the Triumph Demo Truck. Then to Corbin, then the west side of the boot back to pt orange where I split off from Ryan and rode South into the pastels of a Florida dusk. PS I hate you too.

Ryan, either I'm more colorblind than I thought or your camera makes Triumph Tornado Red look orange. So, you bringing it to GA? My Daytona will be coming with me. I don't think there's any way I'll have my speedy done by May. Too many other things stealing time away from me and I don't want to rush it cuz I know I'll F something up if I do.

The sun gives it an orangish tint. The camera accentuates the effect.

Are you going to get new leathers to match your Sprint? I'll be the yellow/black power ranger while you can be the red one. I was going to post some photos but I'll just let everyone poke fun at me in person.

Tom Vance, his buddies Jeff and Mike (really good guys), Moe, and I met up with the Riders of the Lost Empire and Bill Gatley of Bonneville Performance at a new restaurant on Hwy 1. in Port Orange last night. Bill was on his 1100cc Bonnie. He has built a 1200cc. Triumph Street Tracker that he is taking to the DMV to title today. May see it out on the streets of Daytona this weekend. Anyway, 14oz. ny strips and ribeyes for $12.00! Food was good, company was better. The new addition to the family, SGE (Sweetest Girl Ever - 1050 Sprint ST) is coming into her own after only 150 miles. I am living for the day that the break-in period ends. The Riders of the Lost Empire will be hosting an event at the same restaurant all day Saturday. I think it is called Hwy. 1 Cafe, formerly The Sly Fox Inn. There is a factory supported Triumph Daytona in the 200 Superbike race Saturday at the track. Here is a link to the article on the Triumph entry. Triumph Racing in the Honda 200 Saturday Wish y'all were here. R

Sorry that we missed you. Moe, Phil, Tom, and I had a "where's Charlie," phone contest going. No worries, I'll be in Georgia on the Sprint!
Glad y'all had a good ride, and I look forward to the post.

Sunday I rode to Daytona. 405 bridge was up so snapped a pic of the VAB. You can tell Daytona Bike week is over when pictures like this are easy to snap. Rolling North on Sundays are mellow. Traveled down Dixie Way And stopped at for a photo-op. The fruit wasn't fresh. In Florida that means it was molding. Hey Charlie, nice Ride Report. I take for granted that smell of the wind coming off the ocean as I work 3 blocks from the Atlantic! This time of year the Orange blossoms are what cast a dream state upon me.
