Test drive a Subaru before you make your purchase. The all wheel drive makes it a kick on the curves. The Impreeza(sp?) is nice, if you want something with more utility look at what they call the Outback Sport. It is a hatchback Impreeza with a lot of nice options included in the base model. I drive a 5 speed manual and will most likely get another when I have to trade in a few years. Worth checking out.
