The new Honda Civic is worth a look in my opinion. Checked one out when were buying an Odyssey for my wife. Cool looking little car, but larger than the older models. Got a 5-speed for funzies. Consistently get 30 mpg in town and 35-36 mpg on the road. Just took it to Daytona. Moves right along at 85 mph. Two pretty good size boys had no comfort issues on the 34 hour round trip. Can be had for $16-17K. Factor in Honda reliability and resale value and it's hard to beat.
