Ray, I would respectfully disagree.
Judicious use of the front brake in turns is far safer than the rear due to weight distribution bias to the front while braking.

That said, it is best to avoid having to brake in a turn at all by using the techniques described in the previous posts.
Leave the "trail braking" to the pros. You only have so much traction and it's best not to have to share it among two different forces (braking and turning).
