I'm thinking about eventually getting a magnetic tank bag and I was just curious if anyone on here uses one and if they like it.

The Cortech Super Mini tank bag is great. It's perfect for small items. I usually carry a cell phone, camera, maps, a snack bars, a towel, and a bottle of water in mine when riding. That's about all it will handle though.

I agree with Nuthin. I've been doing a lot of research for the same type tank bag and the smaller Cortech's look great. Checked out the 14L at a dealer yesterday at it didn't even seem too big. I'm probably going to go with the 10L size for a Speedmaster.

I've got the same one and use it on trips, I've used it for everyday use. It's nice because it's small, easy to remove and put on and comes with the handle for carrying. I've had my wallet, camera, extra batteries, mp3 player, maps, sunglasses and neck warmer in there all at the same time. The nice thing about it is it has a rubberized hole on the side for earbuds to run through. My problem is I keep wanting to add for things into it and when Nancy recently joined my at the Nor'East rally last September we were a little strapped for space since both saddle bags have tools, oil, filter and cleaning supplies (not that I use those much).

I recently picked up a Sargent's Cycle Super Bag. The thing is huge if fully expanded but I like it for it's versatility with two different map sleeves, three exterior pouches which can be relocated in several different spots, as well as the option of either being magnetic or strapped to the tank. I also picked up a Powerlet Powermate Tankbag kit which brings power to the inside of the tank bag allowing me recharge the mp3 player and cell phone while on the go.

A little bit of overkill I admit but it's more for touring than everyday riding.

FastEddy carries the Nelson-Rigg CL300 & CL350. If you're just looking for basic, Nelson Rigg has a new for '08 CL50 micro bag.

My magnetic tank bag has been far more useful then the high dollar saddle bags and E-Z Brackets..... Works both on the tank and luggage rack / fender. Got one from Cortech. Very handy for those short trips, secure and will hold a half gallon of..... milk...or other such beverage....

Wow....That's crazy huge! I don't know that I would be comfortable reaching around that, but I see the need for it for long-haul touring. Have you had that thing full with just the magnets holding it on? Does it feel secure?

I have the Nelson Rigg CL 300 previously mentioned. It's meant to be small which is what I was looking for. Seems riugged and I like the size of it for my daily commute and that 300-500 mile round tripper where I don't get too far off the beaten path.

I just picked it up before Christmas and haven't had it on the bike, darn cold temperatures. It really isn't that big, yes it can be after it's expanded but I never see me having to do that. Well unless I went on a month long tour. Hmmmm.......

I have found this: OXFORD Sport Sprint Tankbag to be very easy to live with.

It has 4 very strong magnets, and notice it does NOT have the flaps hanging off the sides, draped over the sides of the tank. It is a lot cleaner look, comes off when you take it off, and would never come off, I don't think, even in a very violent crash.

I keep the carry handle (shown towards rider) turned towards the bars, and that way small items don't slide out the top zipped pocket when opened.

The included nylon rain cover sort of frayed away without ever being used much, but I've never had anything in the bag get wet even without a cover on it. I sprayed it with a silicone water repellent/fabric protector once, and on one trip I stuffed the whole thing in a plastic grocery bag, then stuck it to the tank. Those magnets are VERY strong!

It holds about 8 liters, with several organizational pockets for small items.

Can't beat the price, either.
