The diesel in the liberty was a build done by what used to be perkins and detroit.
Ford has been talking about a rover diesel in the F150.The main reason we don't see diesels in half tons isn't frame strength its purely emissions, the regs are tougher for 1/2s and down, conversely easier for 3/4 and up (commerical and all that.)
