several months back someone posted their custom made suicide shift on a new model BA or maybe it was a speedie. Anyways, i couldn't find it in the search so if anyone remembers and has a pic, could you post it?

That would make it a little easier to shift, work the clutch with left hand and shift with the right. I know it is not the same as the original suicide shifts but this way it makes more sense and a little safer at the same time. Nice bike!

One of my favorites also. Just the right mix of black, chrome, and red highlighting. No single color dominates. Extremely well done.

It's nice when everyone can agree on something.

I would love to see how the linkage is worked out with the suicide shift on the right. I was considering doing an old school suicide shift on the left with integrated clutch lever.

This is one extremely sweet bike. One question - does the weight of the shifter with head on top ever want to up or down shift on its own when accelerating or decelerating?

I never had an unwanted shift. But everything has to be light and move easily. The stock return spring will only return against so much resistance. Tommy

I've seen this bike in person, it is very well engineered. I believe, from memory, Tommy bought a complete forward control shifter and modified it to work on the other side to transfer the lever to the right. Hard to describe, probably way more difficult to achieve - it looks factory.

What size back tire do you have on there? It looks huge! Did you have to do any mods to make it fit?

The looks like a seat from an excercycle motorized execise bike. My parents had one of those.

So you've still got the clutch at your left hand, and this is purely for the gear shifts?
Looks good, but I think I'd probably prefer to keep my right hand on the throttle whilst making gear changes with my left hand. Obviously you'd have to go to a foot clutch for that.

Hi Guys Ron Z.- I'll be at Thunder all weekend. Look me up and I'll buy you a beer. Chad - Rear tire is an Avon 200/60/16 Ron C.- The seat is from a 1938 Massey Ferguson farm tractor Sheridan - I still use the original clutch lever. It's no problem using my right hand for throttle and shifts. - Tommy

Would be easy enough to make a foot clutch the way our bikes are set up though. Simply run the cable to the foot pedal where the shifter is now. Not saying you should do that just saying it could easily be done if someone wanted to. Like I told you way back when I first saw your bike I love the look, not sure on the seat though.
