Billy Joel bike on Ebay Hes a great artist but selling an America that has had a few of OEM accessories bolted on with a signed fender for $12000.00 ... I dont think so He barely rode it too...107 miles. Aside from his signature theres nothing special about this...was it used in a music video? Has he ever been seen riding it? Nice bike but crazy price!
SOLD: 07 Black BA, 39mm FCRs, TPUSA stage 1 head, TPUSA 813 cams, TPUSA 10.8:1 pistons, TTP #3 igniter, Specialty Spares Long Cannons, Tsukayu Hard Bags. 82HP/55tq

La da da, la da da da, La da da, da da
Tell me again why I should write check -for 12 Large tonight if you can
For I'm just a bit confused by the sight of this -is it just 'cuz it was owned by Piano Man?

For that price, I'd at least want a letter of Authenticity that Billy himself sat on it in his garage and made vroom vroom noises.... jh

Wow , I'm impressed . Now why would I want to ride around on a bike with this cats' name on the fender ? I DO have SHIRTS with Ralph's name on them , but that's different . Saw him ( Billy J , not Ralph ) on the OCC segment , he seemed a little arrogant I think .

I haven't seen the segment, but Paul Sr, and Jr were on the Letterman or Tonight Show, one of those, and said Joel was kinda hard to get along with. James Dean and Steve McQueen would have to come back to life and sign it before i'd even be interested. (not that i have any money)

Yeah , He was very cocky , they were all terrified that He would not like the bike they built Him , He had a reputation for being demanding . Billy said Himself that He had pushed pianos off the stage 'cause they weren't tuned to His satisfaction .

Yes, once famous they all (most) become demanding and difficult. Until then, they're on their knees (begging??).
A touch of humility and remembering their roots is required.

Looks like he has a few triumphs. Watch for all of them to go up for sale I bet. He's probably selling it for 12 large cause he is broke. When was the last time he wrote any music?

He lost all credibility with me when Christie Brinkley left him. High maintenance or not....what was he thinking?
Sorry, way off topic. I'm still pi$$ed about it.

To be honest I thought he was great with OCC. He was paying for the bike and them tossers couldn't even get the colour right. He wanted a 'bobber' and they tried to give their 'interpretation'. When he turned up to see how things were going the old Walrus was quite put out that he wasn't kissing his asp in admiration but told them he didn't like it and he wanted it changed.
If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Is anybody active in fleabay? I say Billy Joel never signed the bike. Somebody should ask him for the video or notarized affidavit from Billy Joel. Somebody should also put his feet to the fire with a power of attorney to sell the bike. He says its not his. and people wonder why many of us stay away from e-bay. You shouldn't be allowed to sell what you don't own.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

That's friggin ridiculous. The only "custom" thing I see is black lower fork legs. Everything else is a factory accessory.
What an asshat.

This is what I sent to him: Quote:
Not a question, just a comment. You are high if you think a stock bike with factory accessories, even low mileage, is worth 25% more than MSRP just because the fork legs are painted black and Billy Joel signed it. If I recall correctly, the TBA that was in Daredevil only went for a few grand, and that appeared in a major motion picture. Good luck with your auction.

Seems like a somewhat reasonable sort, otherwise: Quote:
You may be correct. What this bike will be worth in the future is unknown. One thing I do know, it will be worth far more than one with no history. --- Cobras were selling for between $350,000 and $1,000,000. Recently Carol Shelby's personal Cobra sold for $5,000,000. That's 500% more. I wonder what that guy was high on? ---
Still smokin' crack on this bike tho'...

O' course Carroll Shelby's twin supercharged, 800hp Super Snake was one of only two made, and the other is gone. So it's the only one in existence.

Good point, Chris. I wouldn't even consider forking over 12 Large for his Triumph, however I might consider giving him that for his Steinway!
But...I WOULDN'T give him A THING for that little drunk driving problem he also seems to possess!
(other than a swift-kick)

Looks like he got the hint. The initial bid is no longer 11,995.00 Now it has three bids, up to around 1200.00 and shows that it has a reserve (which is still probably 11,995.00). Still no proof that it is billy joels bike other than a signature. No picuture of him on the bike, or of him signing it. Even so, it still isnt one of his piano's.

All he has is a title with Billy's name on it. The bike is signed but how to you authinticate the signature. In my estimation the Billy Joel stuff only adds a small 5% or 10% curb appeal value. So the bike should be valued around $6500 to $7500 at the most. The milage is low and it has some nice accessories.
Now if he rode it in a music video that would be a horse of a different color.

Well, I don't know about you folks, but once a certain '89 Volvo that was once owned by Jon Voight comes up on Ebay Motors, I'm jumpin' on THAT ONE in a heartbeat!!!
(but I'll probably have to out-bid George or Kramer for it)

Does this mean if I nip over to the local pub where Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) goes buy him a beer and say to him sit on my bike while I take a photo, get him to sign the tank in coulered pen, I can ask double for mine. That's if I would sell it or let him ruin my nice paint work

Man, I am so jealous if you can do that. Although Ian once served me champagne at a show in detroit.

I was surprised by the bike since I was always under the impression that Billy was a HD or Indian affectionado and had teamed up with Lighthouse HD on Long Island to do a series of retro look new HDs:
