Ok, so, I'm wandering around the Brit Bike Rally in Leesburg, VA this afternoon, and I see a very familiar bike! Gosh, it was a Bonneville America! How nice. What was disturbing was the extra pipes running out of the freak kit, into what turned out to be a little white bottle hidden under the seat. Oh, my. Yep, Nitrous bottle. See the pix here: http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/photopo...=501&page=1and here: http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/photopo...=501&page=1You can just see it nestled in there, all snug. How nice. Yes, he had a big orange "happy button" on the dash... i hope there was a delay to allow him to get his hands back on the bars before it kicked in. Anyway, anybody know about this stuff? Can't say I'd really want one, but... heh... tee hee hee... --Jaeger

I wanna see how he setup the "freak" kit there, looks custom. And looks aluminum too! Mught lighter. Looks like some nasty carbs too. Definitly intereting!!!

Those carbs are Mikunis.
I wonder if that bike is Matt's (TheDude), he's from Arlington?
Nice looking setup. Note the SM rear wheel...

Dunno. I'm sure he's from the DC-VA area, but I dont' remember what the sign in front of the bike said. The paintjob on the tank was of "The Predator" (from the movie).
Anyway, anybody know how difficult it is to mess with teh pressures to get hte NoS right? Given that the engine is relatively tame, I'd imagine it shouldn't be too hard to just bolt a system on and go...?

As Fill said, they are the Mikuni carbs and the mounting kit (all Stainless steel) that Bill suppiles with the carbs. If you buff them up they look like chrome too. I love the Predator on the tank, very nasty looking.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Vegas is right, of course, especially since the new Bonny engines have cast pistons! At least the old twins had forged pistons and beefy aluminum con rods.

Hey, what I think is funny is that I got my SM to SLOW DOWN. Last bike was a semi-crotchrocket (SV650) that was going to get me either incarcerated or incinerated, so this seemed like a more... sedate?... bike to go with (not to mention style, class, and more-than-adequate oomph). Now I see guys putting f'ing Nitro kits on 'em? Well, for one, I can't help but think YIPPIE!! KINDRED SPIRITS!! And then I think: Wife. Mortgage. (As yet theoretical) Kids. Heh. So after I get all wound up and do the big bore, I think I'll just be sticking to getting ANOTHER BIKE rather than trying to make my shiny, pretty, lovely little SM an atomic-powered deathtrap. For anybody else, though -- rock on! Your bike, your ******, and I'm all about learning from (the mistakes of) others. --Jaeger
