PapaDean -- Heh. Yeah, well -- after enough years on an SV650, I developed a fine appreciation for ergonomics (given the SV's general lack thereof). How's "Mongo like comfy bike...";)

Moe -- Yep, you got it, though Leesburg is juuuust inside the District's event horizon, so to speak. It isn't too hard to get past there and into proper VA countryside (which is, I promise you, superior to MD -- I lived and rode in MD for years, and it's just nicer down here). And don't even get me going on VA cops.... grrrr.

Tomstrump -- "Breaking the Ton" or "Doing a Ton" means going over 100mph on yer moto-sickle. Once upon a time (read: 30-40 years ago) having a motorcycle that'd actually do 100mph was something of note. Therefore, the bikers of the day gave it a funny slang term so they could boast. Any more, of course, anything other than the most aenemic (sp?) of motorcycles will do more than 100mph (e.g., my aforementioned inexpensive SV650 topped out at about 135 with my rather heavy posterior on it).
