I know you asked about Rain X but another anti-fog doodad is the Fog City visor sticker thingy ....

I didn't mention it before because your thread mentioned Rain X (external) and the Fog City is internal.
It sticks to the inside of the visor and forms a little 'double glazed unit'. No misting!!
It's a little fiddly but well worth persuing because they really work.
Differnet shapes for different lids (I doubt if you can cut 'em because they have adhesive all round the edge - cut 'em and you'll take the adhesive off).
Only problem is if you wear glasses, they steam up but the visor doesn't ..
I need mini Fog City's for my glasses .............
