16 teeth is a lower gear setup , a larger drive sprocket would excacerbate a problem . If it were a cager , I'd turn the flywheel and PP , but it ain't so I dunno . Crawl around in the Tech Vault and Search , and you may find your Grail .

With the engine off put it in gear and roll it forward for an easy check on the slop in the cush drive. You'll know immediately if there's too much.

Could be a weak spring, worn cush drive, warped clutch disk, worn or loose chain or it may simply not like the oil you are using.

I had similar clutch issues last summer after an oil change and getting hot/sitting in traffic. It was like a ratcheting noise. Happened twice, cooled down and it was fine. Changed the oil and haven't had a problem since. I think it was "golden spectro" oil, now using either mobil1 or rotella.

Some 2002 and 2003 TBA's had clutch basket schudder. If it's schuddering at the end of take off that's probably not the oil. You may have to place the clutch basket. At the same time I'd replace the plates and springs.
