I'm in the middle of the project right now. It's funny, because I was just going to start a thread on how much project was cursed. I'll run down the list .
1. purchased risers off ebay that didn't work.
2. purchased bars off ebay that would have folded in half at the first hard brake.
3. Purchased a set of Chubby 1 16" apes and just found out today that they had the wrong riser spacing.
4. Was shipped the wrong seat.
I don't know exactly how much the cables are going to cost but I decided to just use black vinyl cables when I found out that steel braided would run about a hundred per cable. The vinyl cables will prbably run no more than 50bucks each. My apes cost 230, new retro grips were like 20, new risers were 150. Now figure in labor(I didn't feel comfortable doing it myself) which my guy told me would run no less than 375 and no more than 500. Add it all up and there you go. Just have all your ducks in a row if you plan on doing it. It will save you some heartache.
