I have the shorter progressive shocks on my speedy and I wiegh a little more than you and have no problems solo. The ride got a little rough with my better half on the back so I "turned up" the shocks and they have been fine.

The progressives (412s I think, check the tech vault) are a definate improvement over the stock shocks.
