Now that Ford has sold them to India?

Is it possible that someone in the business is totally unaware of the many cyclecars made in the 30's, 40's and 50's?

They were the 'Partnership' that helped to destroy MG Rover. They sold a 'City Car' that was of a build quality even the Brits failed to sink to in the bad old days. They sold VERY few of them.

The current company interested in Landrover/Jaguar build 4 x 4's and want the Landrover technology.

Ford will not sell Jaguar separately.

Sad so very sad. Successive governments have allowed the UK to be asset stripped. When the Banking system went ****** up a while ago, they stepped in with taxpayers £Billions to save their shares becoming worthless. - I wonder how many politicians had shares in Northern Rock ?

How about this Messerschmidt Kabinenroller? One of the older kids on post in Nellingen had one of these in the early 60's and it was a hoot to ride around in.

I love Jaguar, have done for years. Very worrying. Maybe they will just put a few of their people on the Board of Directors and leave the building of the cars to the Jag people. But who knows. I would hate to see Jaguar go the same way as MG. Not only would that be a sad day for GB, but for the automotive industry as well.

And the Isetta 250.

The whole front opened up so you could get in. The problem was if you parked it face up to a wall or post then you couldn't get out - and it didn't have a reverse gear.

We had a staff sergeant in Nellingen who drove a Messerschmidt around '60 - 61. Could be the same one, but it was gray then. I was trying to get my hands on a Kleinstouto that was parked near post engineering. Those looked like a mini TR2. I wanted to replace the Sachs engine with a Triumph twin and rework it to look even more like a TR2, then get a real one to restore and put them side by side in shows.
I was in the 504th ordinance co there.

As a long time employee of Land Rover North America I'm personally very optimistic of Jaguar and Land Rovers future. It will be good to be owned by a very successful company that will have the resources to allow Jaguar and Land Rover to develop new vehicles and technologies to remain competative. Tata has a history of not tearing companies apart and diluting the value of the brands they purchase. Tetley Tea and Corus Steel are two British Companies that they own and they have kept the management teams and employees in place.
Also the demise of MG Rover was due to the Phoenix corporation mismanagement after BMW gave them 10 pounds to take them off their hands. This was after Rover Group sucked billions of dollars out of BMW. They continued to hemorage money while British management of Phoenix stripped it bare. For more history of the downfall of MG/Rover see here: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4158/is_20050409/ai_n13596420
