Sounds great. Trouble is I already get in enough trouble from my wife warming the bike up for too long at 4.30am with TORs. I think this would definitely end with me sleeping in the garage with the bike...

Yes, it does sound fantastic!!! Just like Rano I get into trouble from the wife so I just removed the last baffle in each pipe to give it a bit more GROWL without the wallop that would undoubtedly follow if I took out more....

Add yet another husband whose wife was mad at him for pulling the baffles completely (neighbors, friends...) It sure is fun to scare folks though! Lovely scenery in front of your bike.

Thats funny since Wendy bought a set of modified pipes from Chevy605 when she first got her bike and she was terribly disappointed at how quiet it was. We both run straight pipes now and that isn't loud enough for her...or me either. I miss the thump of my 66.

Have you noticed any loss of low end torque?

I think tha dawg still has the reducer cone in his pipes, keeping some of the backpressure required...

No I had no loss of low end torque, I did keep the reducer cones in for back pressure.

have jus changed the front sprocket to 19t so have slowed things ever so slightly from take off but not enough to worry about!dont think any torque was lost through the exhaust mod!however i need a deeper throatier noise so i think the rest of the inside is a comin out!!!! when will this nightmare of mods end???its you lots fault i shouldna joined!!were doomed i tells ya doomed!!!!

If you gut the pipes be sure to leave the little reducer cone at the header end of the pipes so you retain some back pressure.

You might want to read this: http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...ge=2#Post261792What I did when I gutted my stock pipes, I went in from the rear with a re-bar and a hammer and knocked the baffles loose one by one and then i just wiggled them out. (4 baffles total) When you've removed the 4th baffle, the only thing left is the reducer cone (and in my case, the cat converter) The word "just" is to be taken lightly 'cause it was a pain in the a$$ in the 4th baffle...

dahla is correct, leave the reducer cone don't try and remove it then put it back. There are many methods to remove the baffles. Some use a doubled hole saw, I used an air chisel, some use the rebar, and some just beat on em. I have done quite a few sets , you have to be careful not to catch the screen just behind the first baffle if going in from the back of the pipe. It runs the length of the pipe inside and will be miserable if you bugger it up. The first baffle is held in tougher than the rest. the rest are just spot welded to the mesh and knock out easily.
