New Flush Mount Gas Cap from Brent. This looks pretty neat but how do you get this off? My fingers won't fit in those tiny holes.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I saw this a few days ago - it looks the bollox!
I'm considering one as my cap is looking a little tatty now.
The write-up says it is key operated - I'm interested to see how it works ...

Shouldn't that be "the dog's bollocks"?

Is that one of those gas caps that you depress the center and it pops up? I've seen 'em that just click down and with the next downward push, they pop back up. Very slick appearance.
Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

These have been selling like hotcakes on EBay so Brent was smart enough to include them on his webstore. They are easy to install (about 10 minutes) but as you can see http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...mp;page=2#42530, you will not be the first on the block to have one. We are simply lemmings following each other I guess. I love the look of these and had no problems with fuel spills as others have written.

Anyone know if this cap is "plug and play" (i.e. a quick screw on) or if you have to modify your tank in any way to attach it?

It is "plug and play". Screws right into your existing cap, which of course means the fill diameter is smaller so you must fuel from the right because of the offset it creates.

When have I ever busted anybody for f***ing swearing?
One of my favorite movie moments was in Formula 51 (called The 51st State outside the US) when during a car chase Robert Carlyle is explaining to Samuel L. Jackson the difference between bollocks and the dog's bollocks.
Felix: Oh, bollocks! Elmo: Dog's bollocks? Felix: No, just plain ****** bollocks! Elmo: No dog involved?

Here is mine. It comes with a plastic key to make it easier to unscrew.

I assume that for $50 it must be plastic. Is it?

IMO, If you got a film with Samuel L. Jackson AND Robert Carlyle in, you can't lose ...

Nope, you'll be happy with it. It's an alloy of some kind - very light-weight but metal and well made.

Good idea mate!
I have got into the habit of trying the indicator cancel button whenever I approach junctions where cars are waiting

Anyone know if these are the Kuryakins that Brent is selling or his own brand? Are they the same ones we all got from EBay for $35???

I have one on my TBA, and never really use the "key." I just turn the cap with the heel of my gloved hand, and open it the same way. I do carry the key on my bike keyring, however, just in case.

Just put mine on...but it isn't centered in the console...only thing I can figure with the limited time I had when installing is the console isn't on straight (looks to be though)...anyone else find this?

Rich, it's not the gas cap. You probably didn't notice that the gap may have been different with the stock cap. It's the dash that's off centered. Mine was also. Leave the new gas cap on and remove the 3 dash screws. Ignoring the tab toward the seat, lay the dash on the back tabs and see which is off slightly. I had to slightly bend the left one up so it would sit correctly on the two. If you get it closer to even, mount the front screws first and tighten keeping the dash even. Then snug down the rear (seat) screw. It took me 2 or 3 adjustments before it was just perfect.
