We're not even allowed to talk about guns over here, let alone own one.

The funny thing about that is that the right to bear arms is derived from English Common Law. Edmund Burke, as well as most of his contemporaries, considered the right to self defense as one of man’s natural rights. Thank God for written, as opposed to unwritten, constitutions. It’s also ironic that our revolution was started largely over taxes and was triggered by a move on the part of the British to confiscate firearms in Massachusetts, the state with almost the highest taxes and most restrictive gun laws.

There was an interesting article in a recent NRA magazine about the British Olympic pistol and rifle team having to move to Switzerland. So, have the crime rates in Britain plummeted as the citizen disarmament proponents predicted?

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
