I am not sure if thats what it suppose to be called but the metal tabs that stops your fork at its limit. Yesterday I was cleaning my bike when a big gust of wind came up and slamed my front end to one side. The Memphis shade must of had a kite type effect and flung my forks violently causing the triple trees to dent my tank. I check it out both ways and my triple trees can hit my tank. Is there a fix or is something broke or missing? A temporary fix for now is I too a couple of toll tag velcrow thingies and put them on each side of my triple tree to stop any further damage. I do not believe that I have heard of this or read it anywhere before so your help would be greatly appreciated.

There should be a tab on the frame and a tang on the lower of the triples that limit the travel of the arc. Did yours break? I can take a pic of mine if you need it...

with Wendys I had to decrease the distance to lock because of the risers I used. What I did was put a piece of heater hose over the frame tab. Not sure if that helps or not but there ya go.

Had the tank off lately?
If you miss the guides in the center of the tank when putting it back on the bike the trees will hit it.
Don't ask how I know this....

The fork stops - 2 metal tabs - have been known to break off after a few impacts. I took two rubber ends off of a cheap spring clamp (woodworking clamp) and they fit perfectly on the stops.
